The European Union Agency for the Space Programme (EUSPA) has selected EY The Factory as the local organizer for the 4th CASSINI Hackathon that will take place from 4-6 November 2022.
In 2021, the European Commission launched CASSINI; the “Competitive Space Start-ups for Innovation initiative”, as a part of a broader effort to support space entrepreneurship for a digital and sustainable Europe.
Planned for November 4-6, the hackathon aims to apply space technology to the future of finance. The hackathon takes place in 10 different countries across Europe simultaneously. EY The Factory will host the hackathon for Belgium, The Netherlands, and Luxembourg. The center of all hacking activities will be the EY Antwerp wavespace™. The hackathon will be thus a physical gathering in Antwerp, combined with hybrid and virtual sessions with teams across Europe.
Participants are challenged to reimagine to the future of finance, insurance, and investments with the help of European space technologies and data. Three challenges have been identified for the theme of this Hackathon initiative:
- Challenge #1: Enabling green and sustainable investment
- Challenge #2: Innovating financial tools and technologies
- Challenge #3: Advancing global market intelligence
The teams will be able to pitch their solution to a jury on The Demo Day on November 2022.
